J. Paul Williams
Paul Williams received his Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis in voice from Oklahoma Baptist University and his Master of Music degree with an emphasis in theory and composition from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Williams led reading clinics, choral workshops, and adult, youth, and children’s conferences nationwide, from California to Washington, D.C., and Canada. He is credited with 700 titles, which are carried by 25 publishers, in both the school and church markets. On the last 350 songs, he has been a lyricist only, collaborating with over 50 composers. His works have been sung by church, school, and community choirs throughout the world, and were frequently featured at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California.
Williams served churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas as an Associate Pastor, Minister of Music for 35 years. Before becoming a full-time Lyricist/Clinician in 1992, he served 17 years on the staff of Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Williams passed away in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Donna, two sons, daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren.
