CGA1066 May My Light Shine
Description
Inspired by the story of the Wise Men, this simple piece for Christmas and Epiphany is ideal for children of all ages. An optional introduction for narrator, messenger and three Wise Men adds vivid imagery to the anthem's prayerful text: "May my light shine like the star of Bethlehem. May the world see God's love through me." Beginning handbell or handchime ringers will enjoy playing the optional bell part that can be easily learned in only a few rehearsals.
This anthem can be sung as a stand-alone piece or may be combined with these two companion pieces: Come, Come Emmanuel (CGA1031) and Arise, Shine, Jesus Has Come! (CGA997). Together, the three anthems make a delightful seasonal trilogy or mini-musical especially suited for younger children's choirs. Sound file: ms 1-end, no repeat, second ending.
