CGA924 Bring a Torch, Jeannette, Isabella (Two-part)

Description

The 17th-century origin of this sprightly Provencal carol is announced by hand drum, triangle, and ornamented drone keyboard accompaniment to a flute solo. The first stanza is unison with light keyboard and handbell accompaniment, while the second stanza is two part decorated with a flute obbligato. The final stanza returns to unison but combines the flute obbligato and handbells. The result is a sparkling expression of the wonder and joy of the nativity scene.
