CGA984 Lift Up the Gates
Description
Using the familiar Palm Sunday text which heralds the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem (Matthew 21: 9) with the text from Psalm 24: 7, this triumphant anthem works especially well as a call to worship. The fanfare-like opening yields to a faster, quieter 'Hosanna' segment, which builds to the recapitulation of the opening fanfare. Depending on the vocal forces available, this piece can be sung by an SAT or SATB choir.
