CGB1103 Easter Joy - Handbell Score
Description
This spirited arrangement by Karen Buckwalter is based upon a tune found in a 15th century manuscript which may, in fact, have even earlier folk roots. Although presented here as an arrangement of the hymn, "That Easter Day with Joy was Bright," this lively melody may also be found in hymnals with the alternate texts of "What Star Is This with Beams So Bright" and "On Jordan's Banks the Baptists Cry", making it a versatile handbell piece for Easter, Advent, Christmas or Epiphany. Its optional piano part adds even more drive, exuberance and joy.

Composer: Michael Praetorius, 1571-1621
