CGB655 Proclamation

Description

Written for the Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble, this celebratory composition is suitable for concerts, festivals, and worship services. Using the Mixolydian mode, the piece opens with an antiphonal fanfare followed by a stately melody. If desired, these opening measures may be used as a processional. The second half combines a jubilant melody with a timpani-like mallet accompaniment in the bass. More fanfare flourishes, punctuated with the martellato technique, lead into the coda and bring back the bold music of the opening measures.
