Description
This energetic arrangement of a traditional Catalonian carol employs percussion and mallet technique to convey the anticipation of the season. Following two statements of the melody in D major, a slow handchime section in b minor reflects the hymn stanza "In the hopeless time of sin shadows deep had fallen." A modulation to C major and 6/8 meter bring the setting to a vibrant close.
